Boise Photographer - Why Photography Is So Important

This breath-taking photo is of my dad from when he was in the army. I don't know who took this photo, but I am forever grateful to have such a striking photo of him. It shows him in serious form, working on something. This is a face I saw often and loved so much. We lost dad a couple years ago and it has left an aching hole in my heart. I love looking at pictures of him and remembering our relationship over again. Unfortunately, I only have a handful of photos of him. One of my favorites is of him holding my daughter and smiling down at her. My daughter asks about her Grandpa and I get to tell her how cool he was and how much he loved her.

After losing dad, the importance of getting portraits done became painfully evident. We change so fast. There is so much history in family. The nostalgia, the happiness and joy, the sadness and loss you experience when seeing a photograph is unmatched.
After being a photographer for several years, I realized how important it is to PRINT your pictures. Don't get me wrong, digital pictures are slick and so convenient and easy to share. It is important to share our proud moments with our friends and family and it's so easy to shoot an email or post a pic on social media. However, I realized after the initial excitement of a digital image being shared, it is eventually forgotten and often never to be seen again, unless the image is printed.
